Well… I Took Another Break

Remember when I said I was back?

Apparently life had one more surprise for me. 😂

I had finally started finding my rhythm again after taking a year away from photography. Ross was doing well, our family had settled into a new normal, and I was genuinely excited to start filling my calendar and getting behind the camera again.

And then I found out we were expecting another baby.

Baby number five.

Another little boy.

And yes — very much our final baby.

One More Chapter

After everything we had experienced with Ross, finding out I was pregnant again brought a lot of emotions with it.

Thankfully, this pregnancy was completely different. It was smooth, uneventful, and gave our family the chance to simply be excited about meeting the newest little person who would complete us.

So I stepped away from photography again.

Not because I wanted to disappear just as I was getting started, but because I knew this was one of those seasons I would never get back.

And after the previous few years had taught me just how quickly life can change, I wanted to let myself be present for it.

Our Final Little Boy

Our fifth baby arrived three months ago, and somehow our already-full house feels even more complete with him here.

There are bottles everywhere, somebody always needs something, the laundry situation is questionable at best, and I’m fairly certain quiet no longer exists in our house.

But I wouldn’t trade it.

And now that he’s three months old and we’re finding our new rhythm as a family of seven, I finally feel that familiar pull toward my camera again.

I Really Am Back This Time

I’ve missed weddings.

I’ve missed walking into a getting-ready room with everyone buzzing around. I’ve missed first looks, happy tears, chaotic family portraits, packed dance floors, sunsets that show up at exactly the right moment, and all those tiny things happening on the edges of a wedding day that no one else notices.

And strangely enough, becoming a mom again has only made me appreciate those moments more.

Life moves ridiculously fast.

Photographs give us a way to hold onto a little bit of it.

So Christa Wright Photography is officially back, and I am incredibly excited about what comes next.

I’ll be photographing weddings throughout Texas — Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, College Station, East Texas, and wherever your story takes me.

And before anyone asks…

No more maternity leaves. No more surprise babies. I promise. 😂

Our family is complete.

Now I’m ready to get back to telling yours.
